Styler Toolbar

A very important component of every visual style is the styler toolbar. These toolbars enhance the look of the windows, and they replace the standard buttons. Many of these toolbars are based on vista style toolbar, but these toolbars are not that very good at enhancing the looks of the window.
The styler toolbar i found very good was Jadero ST by Flahorn. It contains two substyles and I found them both compatible with every visual style and undoubtedly better than the one provided with MS vista.
Download the theme and see for yourselves.
Requirements:
You will need the styler program for applying these themes.

WARNING!!!!

All those people who do NOT want to mess up their computers or risk another formatting session of your C drive, do not download VISTA TRANFORMATION PACKS. These packs do ther best to erase the registries in your C drive and render the OS maimed.
DO NOT go for the looks and the previews that are shown on the websites.
Looks can be decieving!

Tried and tested, my machine had to be formatted once and the cause was the visual style in the package named 'Vista transformation pack 6.0', I again installed it for conformation and my wallpaper appeared on screen after rebooting without the start bar or icons or widgets.

Have you always wanted that mini preview windows that are now part of windows vista? If you really like it that much, you'll be happy to know that a similar software is available for your Windows XP OS. The program in addition to its main function also improves the presentability of the mini preview window ,it has the options to colour the borders and also make them transparent!

For all those who worry about such softwares slowing down the performance of the system, there's no need to worry!, this software does not slow down the system.
The mini preview windows can be moved anywhere on the desktop and can also be oriented as the user likes them, they also have a dock to stock the mini previews and you can also add the system tray icons on this dock. Minimum requirements: Direct X 9.0b Recomended : Direct X 9.0c To download this software, click here

Gettin' The Look: Part 2

Everyone must have noticed the sidebar that microsoft introduced in the MS Vista. But not many of you knew that the sidebar was the creation of Stardock Inc. about 4 years back created with the help of their DesktopX (R)(TM) Software.
As it always happens as soon as the vista was released a group of hard working amateurs made their very own sidebar that can be used on the vista also, their motive clearly was to rival the vista.
And this sidebar is equally good as its twin that is available in vista.
This sidebar is available on www.thoosje.com and gives you a variety of themes and gadgets that can be put up on the sidebar which include media player, clock, temperature control etc.
Also the sidebar can be updated from the mentioned site.
Hope you enjuoy it.
Cheers!

Gettin' The Look: Part 1

So we kick off our blog (albeit a little late) learning about customizing the desktop to get that vista look.

The latest skin launched replicating the vista is 'Vista perfection X4' ,i personally liked the skin because its transparent, yeah , the windows are glassy around the borders ,even the taskbars transparent and the buttons and tabs glow on selection, that sounds cool but all windowblinds skins have that feature.
The shut down and logoof buttons can be easily removed by installing the LS patch that comes with the skin package.(see screenshots)
This skins derived part from its competitors and offers less errors because its been bugfixed carefully and has looks that can beat the aero theme by microsoft.
The my favorites folders (including my music, videos) have a different logo ,yeah now you wouldn't want to see those old XP style water marks.
Even the control panel watermarks been changed, looks much more futuristic now.
Though this skin does not have included wallpapers in the package, its better any day than vista xp and aero by microsoft.
In order to use such skins you'll have to download Windowblinds software from www.stardock.com\windowblinds , the official site gives you a version that has a 60 day trial period, but if you want the full version the latest that is available for XP is version 5.00 and there are dozens of torrents available.
And if you have windowblinds with you i would advise you to check www.wincustomize.com for the latest skins.
